Prior to joining 100 Resilient Cities, Nicola Thomson worked as a sustainability advisor and program manager in developing countries. Her technical expertise is in environmental science, public administration and climate change adaptation.
Nicola has spent her career facilitating consultation and collaboration between the private sector, government, non-profit organizations and communities. She has led environmental and social impact assessments for major public and private developments. She is a respected independent evaluator of conservation and development grants. She has provided in-house training in sustainable program design and management to a range of sectors.
She recently facilitated a series of regional workshops that brought together 26 Pacific Island Countries in the exercise of developing collaborative action plans for climate change adaptation and disaster risk management.
Nicola holds a Bachelor and Master Degree in Environmental Science and Management and a Master in Public Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.
