As the Manager of Program Design and Development, Mari is focusing on new program design and standardization of existing processes. This involves analysis of best practices from the Network, deep collaboration across the organization, and leading formal optimization projects. Soon after joining 100 Resilient Cities as an Associate, Mari Haraldsson transitioned to serve as the Special Assistant to the Senior VP of City and Practice Management. In this role she led several special projects for the organization, focusing on internal guidance and coaching on key programmatic developments.
Prior to joining 100 Resilient Cities, Mari worked for various organizations focused on the Women, Peace, and Security agenda – analyzing national action plans and monitoring their implementation. As part of her MPA studies in International Policy and Nonprofit Management at NYU’s Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service Mari served as a pro-bono consultant for Transparency International and the International Center for Transitional Justice.
While pursuing a BA in Social Justice and Leadership, Mari was awarded the NYU Gallatin Global Fellowship in Human Rights and the NYU Gallatin Dean’s Award for Graduating Seniors, which gave her two separate opportunities to join Member of Parliament Mu Sochua’s team in conducting leadership seminars and capacity building workshops in Phnom Penh, and Battambang, Cambodia for women and youth who sought meaningful involvement with their local governments.
Originally from Sweden, Mari is fluent in Swedish and Korean and proficient in Spanish.
