John White

Associate Director, City Resilience Delivery

John leads on strategy implementation across our European and Middle Eastern portfolio.

He describes his role as “bringing cities, partners and financiers together to innovate around and solve the challenges of the 21st century”.

Prior to joining our team, John Directed the international risk and resilience advisory practice for Ernst and Young in the UK, and was also Head of Resilience Advisory at KPMG UK. John has designed and implemented resilience strategies for some of the world’s largest organisations. He has worked on almost every continent, delivering solutions as far afield as the Atacama Desert, jungles of the DRC and rural Kazakhstan. His biggest project to date covered 17 countries and was delivered in four different languages. He has built multidisciplinary teams, developed and executed market strategies, managed P&L’s, and created and taken to market a variety of resilience related initiatives.

John’s expertise spans resilience, risk and crisis management. He is an expert in project and programme design, and an experienced negotiator and influencer. He spent several years sitting on the 2020 future thinking panel for the BCi, has been a senior member of the UK Cross Sector Safety and Security initiative, and contributed to the development of a number of international standards.

In his time at KPMG he also operated as EU Innovation Lead for two years, and has a degree in Emergency and Disaster Management.
