Alan joined 100 Resilient Cities’ City and Practice Management Team after graduating from Columbia University, Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation with a Master in Urban Planning. He has extensive experience in several city agencies in New York City, including internships during which he did spatial analysis on city-wide programs and developed interactive data visualization tools for E-governments. He also served as a pro bono zoning consultant for a private architecture firm. While at Columbia University, he co-founded a network to connect planning scholars, professionals and students who are interested in urban development in China.

Originally from China, Alan got his Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science from Sun Yat-Sen University in Guangzhou. He has native fluency in the Mandarin, Cantonese, and Teochew dialects.
